The Global Partnership for Results-Based Approaches (GPRBA) is organizing an in-person “RBF Forum” in Nairobi, Kenya during 22-25 May 2023.

We expect to showcase impactful projects from GPRBA’s portfolio, present evidence of the role of results-based approaches in development, foster learning and knowledge-exchange among RBF practitioners and thought leaders, and provide an opportunity to network among experts in the field.

Proposed sessions will address current trends in results-based financing (RBF), the idea of moving from Outputs to Outcomes and examining lessons from diverse sectors (solid waste management, energy, water, health, and education) and thematic areas such as fragility, climate, and gender. The Forum also will include a site visit to an innovative program in Nairobi that has benefited from GPRBA financing.

In-country expenses (in Nairobi) including hotel accommodation, in/out airport transport, meals and other event related expenses in Nairobi, Kenya, will be borne by GPRBA.  We expect travel expenses to be borne by participants. Details will be sent upon registration.

Background

The Global Partnership for Results-Based Approaches (GPRBA) provides innovative financing solutions that link funding to achieved results. GPRBA’s RBF approaches provide access to basic services such as water and sanitation, energy, health and education for low-income families and communities that might otherwise go unserved.

Established in 2003 as part of the Urban, Disaster Risk Management, Resilience & Land (GPURL) Global Practice at the World Bank, GPRBA supports the work of building inclusive, resilient, and sustainable cities and communities, using innovative RBF instruments to help address the many development challenges the world faces today. By linking payments to actual results achieved and its explicit and unique pro-poor focus, GPRBA fosters inclusive development and helps address service delivery gaps arising from the challenge of increased urbanization in developing countries. It creates financial incentives for service providers to extend basic services specifically to low-income communities, while also providing incentives for consumers in these communities to access those services.

Venue: Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi Upper Hill, Kenya

Dates: 22-25 May, 2023
